The Art of Tim Holsclaw
I'm so glad you found my site. I live in Louisville, Kentucky and have been drawing and painting since I was a child. My father always encouraged creativity, imagination, and appreciation for the arts. Instead of store bought toys, he'd bring home various leftovers and knick-knacks from the construction sites he worked on. We'd build and create anything our minds could imagine from rejected rubber mallet heads, hundreds of metal slugs, burnt welding rod nubs or scrap wood pieces. A father and son on hands and knees building birdhouses, ships, log cabins, and robots are fond memories indeed. This set the tone for my young mind to think, imagine and create in a free and easy manner. I always had plenty of markers, pencils, brushes, paint and paper, but was never limited to any of these. We'd paint hawks, birds and flowers on driftwood or carve ships in the fungus hunks knocked off of trees. Coloring books were someone else's pictures forcing you to conform to their lines. Dad encouraged me to make my own coloring books from my own drawings. These lessons I now pass on to my three children with the patience, love and commitment my father showed me.
